Rather than look at Brothers in Hoods.. For the purpose of this review, let's look at them as shoes... to delve deeper,
deeper than the media!
To set the tone - let's listen to some vybz...
So where did we get our Clark(e)s?
And how and when did they become objects of both desire and mal(e)function??
I will never promote any type of violation! However, I think too often and for too long we've let the Man-U-factors off the hook! And we zoom into the effects, not the cause!
So let's talk... because without looking at the structure to which the shoes are shelved - the problem of any type of abuse will continue!
And whilst Clark(e)s have been massively fashionable, especially in the deep tanned colour, for the last decade or so - we must never forget the whole production line that causes the Clark(e)s sole/ soul to detach.
You see the Man-U-Factor purposely gives the Clark(e)s a lifespan.
It is short lived.
It is objectified!
It then becomes violent!
The power given to the Clark(e)s is woven into the design.
SQUEEZING is its detriment!

The Foot & the Clark(e)
Now the history between the Clark(e)s and the foot has a bond(age) that is historical. The two's attraction and lust for one another makes the connection surface and grey!
What's more they both have a great run boasting to the other shoes about how sexy they are together... Note - the boasting rarely happens to the other feet..
"We're a great fit"
The foot and the Clark(e) show off to the Stan's and Smith's about how great being placed in the highest position in the shop is...
My name is Smith. Call ME by YOUR Name!
I watch objectively as they race... Foot and Clark(e) - to be placed right at the top!
I watch... worn out, as I was designed, and also once used by the same Man-U-factors as them - [Call ME by YOUR Name!] - although my purpose was slightly different.
I watch - as the Foot and the Clark(e) forget that in this shop they are nothing, nothing but high shelf shoes chosen by the Man-U-factors to uphold an illusion of fame.
Forgetting their origin -
Forgetting that they also once were at the back of the shelf -
Forgetting that they were once seen as sin...
Getting in, they gloat... from the high-shelf!
But then - Clark(e) gets irritated with Foot.
The power and glory has over taken him! And his disability of having to rely on... be directed by Foot reminds him that he is nothing! NOTHING. but. a. shoe!
He longs to be able to direct.
Who needs a foot anyway?!?
Clark(e) forgets he is solely a shoe.
Now Foot is not a shoe.
She is a part of the Man-U-factors... hence her ability to control where the Clark(e)s go -
However, she is ONLY a tiny part, and is in constant fight with the MAN(u-factor) to have... a bigger part!
"I just want a bigger part!" she exclaims, "I'll do whatever for a bigger part!"
Who needs to factor-U-Man anyway!?!
And she's so busy flirting with her new shoes... the Clark(e)s, that only when it squeezes does she realise that the fit is... Man-U-factored!
My name is SMITH!
A Black-Smith - trying to repair the design of the mal(e)function existing in both the Clark(e) and the Foot.
But they both don't listen! So wrapped up in how snug they both fit...
I try to tell them...
Clark(e) Squeezes the foot!
The Stan and The Smith
Stan and Smith are also shoes.
But unlike Clark(e)s they are currently not trend! Unfashionable.
They wish for their time again! And look on at the opportunity bestowed to Clark(e)s by the Man-U-factors.
On one hand Stan and Smith are a brotherhood, admiring Clark(e)s ability of 'getting foot'.
They're all shoes though, what makes Clark(e)s special?!?
Stan and Smith are just as problematic as Clark(e)s.
And their aim is not to save the foot... don't get it TWISTED. Their aim is that shelf!
The objectification over hundreds of years has their sole - Soul? Sole hoping to propel to a new position on the top shelf!!
Despite they're ACTING, reacting like they care - similar to Clark(e), the same result is inevitable!
And although Foot's screams should absolutely be heard! Clark(e)s mal(e)function means he is designed by the man-U-factors to hurt her!
And not because she's a part... a tiny part, of the man-U-factors... but because
And their hardened soles hurt. Abused shoes abuse feet.
And has she ever played her part
in ever thinking of freeing Clark(e),
from her control?
The Stan's dive in... in Hero-ism for the foot FORGETING that they cannot even swim.
To caught up in...
Forgetting that they too have hardened soles that squeeze the feet of parts...
They are no better than CLARK(E)s
and the squeeze is not as a result of trying to dismantle part of the man-U-factors -
but just as part of the flawed design.
My name is SMITH - 'Me too' am a SMITH!
The Clark(e)s did it to ME TOO - Failing to... fearful of... exposing the man-U-factor!
So scared is ME TOO - that I knock Clark(e) down (as arrogant as he is)
but the shop...
The shop still exists.
The Clark(e)s return to the bottom shelf. New arrival -
'Is that Giuse....? Says the foot.
The design refined!
Hero-ism [Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole]
What does it mean?
Fighting this systemic machine?
And when you’re a Black person living on a planet that has hidden your actual super power, ability and history -
What I see is a community of people shouting and fighting to prove… always prove that they are worthy!
Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole died this weekend, after jumping into the river thames to save a woman.
Various headlines read….
READ ALL ABOUT IT!
Hero-ism? What does it mean??
But what I found interesting was this post….
Well... what did she look like? Did he know her?
And just like that - with a change of a word, and the emphasis seemingly on our ‘hero’ I saw the manipulation.
And whilst my true love and condolences go out to Jimi and his family… something about the actions of ‘Jimi’… jumping into the abyss to save this victim I found quite disturbing.
Are you stuck in the Abyss/ Limbo? Check out my review Sitting in Limbo
It reminded me of a situation my brother told me about…
He was waiting for a train at a busy train station, where a white woman was also waiting with her baby in a pram. The baby threw one of his/her toys out of the pram and it landed on the train track.
How do you think this woman, this white woman reacted?
What do you think this woman… this white woman said to my black brother?
Who was minding his business waiting for a train.
Now let’s also remember how each of the above is portrayed -
in the media,
on the news,
At the work place,
On the street,
In the hospital!
Let us remember how each are treated in LIFE!
In an attempt to unlearn the subtle brainwashing we’ve each received that feed into our psyche.
One is always the victim and the other is ALWAYS the villain!
It’s so ingrained that I don’t even have to explicitly write which one is which.
And so the reverse psychology of it all and how it plays out in real life is that the person who is constantly seen as the villain is always needing to subconsciously prove that they are not a threat.
The Victim cries:
“Help!” - Even though I treat you like shit 99.9% of your existence by
making false accusations,
pretending I’m scared of you to my husband,
and making the mistake of pulling out my gun rather than a taser…
The Victim cries:
“HELP!” To save my life,
despite my life being at risk by the choices I,
or my baby,
or my husband,
My friends or family make.
The Victim cries:
Please help! - Save my life by putting yours at risk!!
HELP - Now don’t be selfish… my life matters
HELP me! Be my HERO - at the cost of
your children’s life….
Your parents grief
Your partners growth
What does it mean?
I shout and fight to prove to you your worth!
Rescue your physical, mental and spiritual self.
That is the SUPER power they want to omit.

#RIP Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole our VICTIM of...
The Covid-19 Pandemic
I keep hearing about this global production –
Have you seen it?
A worldwide production, that apparently started in China, has dominated humanity in a matter of weeks.
All around me.
As I travel up and down the country - people are coughing and sneezing about it.
Have you caught it?
When reviewing a theatrical production I normally like to experience it first, before researching and writing. But the infiltration of information is warning me to stay away.
To stay away that is...
But this production is pandemic – meaning we all have to watch… out.
It’s not just live in our lives, but social in the media and TV is covering all other corners.
Some of our biggest celebrities like Boris Johnson, Prince Charles and Idris Elba are in starring roles.
It’s not a production I want to be involved in…. but it's not optional as it will affect all of our lives physically, economically and psychologiclly. And apparently the rising figures of death isn’t figurative at all.
The normal reassurance of looking away, changing the channel or even leaving (the place or country)- when you find a production disturbing - isn’t accessible...
Is on every channel and every street.
Even going to sleep isn’t an escape.
The worry haunts you!
And when you awake the nightmare persists.
Buju Banton: Corona A Look MI
I ask my 80 something only living grandparent if she has ever experienced an event whereby the majority of the world is on lockdown…
and if she had there wasn’t a machine like the internet to offer an up to date live recording.
As the concept of time changes before all of our eyes.
And as we all obediently play our unique parts in this global pandemic.
All of us living at this time have aged in a way unthinkable a few months ago when the clock struck 12 into 2020.
I dream about the day I’m face to face with my gran again.
Is it a dream?
I fantasise about playing around and ramping with my nephew...
I channel hugging my niece!
And look forward to telling my grandchildren the -
“Once upon a time.
Back in my day… in my late 30’s…
The planet experienced a vicious viral pandemic!
It stole many lives,
but was the first time in world history when we…
spoke with one voice
to kill it!’
We can run (mostly in parks) but we can't run away from this and all its nuances...
We can't run away from ourselves... listen to Bob
